WIVES are another one of them there post-punk bands from New York City. However, on debut LP So Removed they distance themselves from the art-school Ramones-isms of fellow Big Applers like Parquet Courts and Bodega. Tracks like The 20 Teens and Workin showcase a scuzzier, more low-slung sound influenced by Sonic Youth and The Pixies and maybe also a little bit by the Men.
