In booklet:
“In The Region Of The Summers Stars was originally recorded in 1976 and released on BUK Records. The musicians in The Enid at the time were Robert John Godfrey, Stephen Stewart, David Storey, Francis Lickerish and Glen Tollet. Deleted some time later the album was reissued in 1984 on The Enid’s own label, Side Two having been completely re-recorded. In the eight years between the two releases substantial changes were made to the arrangements, and therefore the music on Side Two differs in a number of respects from the original.
The multi-track tapes for the music on Side One were re-acquired by Robert and Steve in 1984 and most of them were used on the new version. Side One therefore is essentially the same escept that “Fool” was extended and some completely new music included. “The Loved Ones” is also different. Some of the original synthesizer parts were not really adequate and were redone. The actual titles of the pieces were changed largely on a whim.
The new production was re-recorded and re-mixed by Stephen Stewart and Robert John Godfrey at The Lodge Studio in Clare, Suffolk. It was digitally mastered and The Enid are grateful to John Southard of TRAD Electronics for providing them with the means to achieve the excellent technical quality of the recording.”
