Express signed with production company Roadshow Records then a deal was struck with Scepter, initially they recorded as the Madison Street Express – they rehearsed on Brooklyns Madison street – but the label insisted they change their name and B.T. Express was born – BT short for Brothers Trucking but the group didnt like it so changed it to Brooklyn Transit. Their 1974 debut album Do It (Til Youre Satisfied) was recorded in Ultra-Sonic Recording Studios in Hempstead, Long Island with producers Jeff Lane and Trade Martin and arranger Randy Muller who also performed with Brass Construction.
