The following titles appear for the first time on Compact Disc: nos. 3,4,12,13,14,15,16,17, and 18. 13 and 14 are variant takes to the published versions and have never before been issued in any form – Pearl’s earlier LP set excepted; also, 17 and 18 have been reissued previously only on the Pearl set.

All except the first four titles were processed by the Packburn Audio Noise Suppressor at the Yale Collection of Historical Sound Recordings.

Titles 5,6 and 7 were dubbed from copies donated by Mr. and Mrs. Laurence C. Witten II to the Yale Collection; the tenth and eleventh were dubbed from a record in the collection of Richard and Mary Jo
