Sleepy Night Records is delighted to announce the release of Anthology from the band Chase. This historical collection brings together a powerful set of studio songs and performances by the group led by trumpeter Bill Chase from 1969-1974. This special double CD album will be limited to 500 numbered copies only and will not be made available digitally.
The sound of Chase was unique, in that four trumpets provided the power that underscored songs with Classic Rock vocals. Whilst the bands active period spans just over 5 years from conception through to their final days, the group as a whole and Bill Chase specifically, continues to inspire younger generations of musicians and fans more than 50 years later. Anthology contains 21 fantastic tracks, including of course their best-known hit Get It On.
This double CD anthology assembles the works of an incredible group of musicians and showcases, with rare and previously unreleased selected songs and performances, mostly played live or in rehearsals, sprinkled with a couple of studio cuts. Some material here is taken from their 1971 debut Chase, the follow up Ennea from 1972 and 1974s Pure Music [which featured Jim Peterik best known for his time with Survivor]. This collection highlights the bands evolving musical concepts and style over time.
Sleepy Night Records has partnered with Bill Chases daughter, Linda, on these classic recordings, and a big thank you goes to her for all her invaluable help. Anthology simply would not have been possible without Linda Chase and the Chase family who graciously and enthusiastically greenlighted this project. Anthology will be a collectors item for years to come.
