“A GREEK COLUMBIA recording, released for its members in Australia by World Record Club.”
“From this beautiful and startlingly original orchestral suite came the haunting themes which contributed so notably to the success of the BBC television series “The Lotus Eaters”. Even to those unfamiliar with the series, the subtle rhythms and unusual colourings of the music instantly conjure up visions of the sun-drenched southern Mediterranean, of shady olives groves, of the crumbling marble monuments of an ancient people, and of languorous afternoons on the shores of the wine-dark Aegean Sea. This suite is one of the most remarkable musical achievements to have come out of modern Greece.”
