The track Am I Your Woman? is a cover of the Chi-Lites classic Are You My Woman (Tell Me So) from their third album Four Flights Up, which title was inspired by a memorable night spent dancing until dawn at a club on the 4th floor of a building in Osaka during Speedometer’s 2005 Japan tour. Featuring Ria Currie on vocals, this rendition delivers a more refined groove, with Lias powerful performance truly standing out. On the B-side, youll find a cover of the killer jazz-funk track Nam M’Yoho Ren’Ge Kyo, originally recorded by the Night Blooming Jazzmen. This project was curated by jazz critic Leonard Feather and featured Mainstream All-Stars like Blue Mitchell, Charles Kynard, and Paul Humphrey.
